Local realtors get top honors

Paul P. Partyka, Managing Partner at NAI Realvest in Maitland, earned a place among the area’s Top 10 Commercial Property Brokers in three separate categories during the recent Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors (CFCAR) Awards Luncheon. Hallmark Award winner Partyka placed among the Top 10 area retail, industrial and land brokers. Partyka sold and leased properties valued at more than $11 million last year.

New purchasing VP

Taylor Morrison (North Florida Division), located in Maitland, recently hired Carol Penny as vice president of purchasing. In this role, she will be responsible for all aspects of material procurement and architectural operations in the Orlando and Jacksonville markets. She has more than 20 years of experience and has also held several executive-level positions within the purchasing function of Beazer Homes USA.

Serving for space

President, CEO and Managing Partner William T. Dymond Jr. of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed P.A. has been elected to serve as interim chair of Space Florida, an independent agency that focuses on the growth and development of the space industry in Florida.

Hallmark Award winner

Senior broker associate Mary Frances West at NAI Realvest in Maitland garnered accolades as one of the region’s Top 10 Office Leasing Associates during the recent Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors (CFCAR) Hallmark Awards.

Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW) has announced that Michael Harding, retired Orlando senior partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP, has been elected to a three-year term on the Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW) Board of Directors.

Royal Oak record

Royal Oak Homes, based in Baldwin Park, ended April with a record 37 sales valued at $9 million. Matt Orosz, co-president of Royal Oak Homes, said the $9 million covered sales at eight communities in Central Florida. For the first quarter, Royal Oak reported sales of $22 million.

Balancing business

Lu Mueller-Kaul, business owner and founder of local wellness center Balance Orlando, has been named MBA Orlando’s Business Woman of the Year for 2013.

Kincaid Construction celebrates 50 years

Kincaid Construction Co. (www.kincaidconstruction.com) is kicking off their 50th year anniversary in the Winter Park, Fla. community with a $1.2 million project.

“We have just finished phase one of a three-phase project, turning an abandoned Albertson's grocery store into a 20,000 square foot facility,” Kincaid Construction Co. Owner Rodney Kincaid said. “The renovation included a sanctuary that seats 1000 people, baptismal area, classrooms and a breathtaking 24-foot tall and 8-feet wide waterfall inside the lobby of the River of Life Church.”

Applications for Chamber Cares campaign being accepted

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its 2013-14 Chamber Cares campaign. Launched in 2008, Chamber Cares, a small business and community philanthropy effort, has raised almost $100,000 to support initiatives like the UCF College of Medicine's inaugural class, the Senior's First emergency Meals-On-Wheels program, the Winter Park Public Library, the Winter Park Day Nursery and the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida.

The Chamber will accept applications from non-profit Chamber members who are in good standing. Applications must be received by July 1, 2013 to be considered. Visit winterpark.org/content/chamber-cares or call 407-644-8281 for more information.

Winston-James coming to Aloma

Winston-James Development, based in South Daytona, recently negotiated a lease agreement for 938 square feet of office space at its Aloma Business Center on Aloma Avenue in Winter Park. Winston Schwartz, president of Winston-James Development said OSS Office Support Services, a certified “Quick Book” financial consulting firm, leased the office space.
