On March 23, Carrie Woodell, CPPO, CFCM, C.P.M., FCPM, FCPA, FCCM, FCCN, the city of Winter Park’s Purchasing Manager, received the 2012 Purchasing Manager of the Year Award from the Central Florida Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc. Woodell has been a dedicated employee of the city’s Purchasing Division since October 1999.

Rising gas prices during the past 60 days have more than tripled sales at Ride Green Scooters in Winter Park. Ron Schwartz, general manager at Ride Green Scooters, said sales topped the $50,000 mark in February.

Rob Baker has joined Moss & Associates as vice president and will head the construction management firm’s new Orlando office located at 1615 Edgewater Drive, Suite 250, in Orlando.

NAI Realvest recently negotiated the sale of an industrial condo at 4280 Church St. at  Monroe CommerCenter IV in Sanford for $94,500. Michael Heidrich, a principal at NAI Realvest, brokered the transaction representing the seller and developer Small Bay Partners LLC of Maitland and the buyer, Sepco Air Inc. of Deltona.  

NAI Realvest recently completed the sale of a 2,545-square-foot former Taco Bell restaurant and its 24,000-square-foot site at 1090 W. State Road 434 in Longwood for $450,000. Felice Ladisernia of Boynton Beach purchased the property and plans to open a new restaurant at the site.

The Orlando office of Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations firm, has established a pro-bono marketing partnership with the Kissimmee-based not-for-profit organization Give Kids The World Village, a 70-acre “storybook” resort where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to week-long, cost-free fantasy vacations.
