Celebrate the grand re-opening of Goldenrod’s fire station from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15. The Goldenrod Area Chamber of Commerce has invited local firefighters from Station 63, local politicians and the community to attend this very special occasion. There will be appetizers and cocktails for all. Door prizes will be given away, and the Goldenrod Museum will be open for tours. There will also be a special display of before and after pictures, as well as archived pictures for all to see. The Art & History Museums – Maitland proudly opens two exhibitions highlighting the city of Eatonville. “Images of Eatonville: Then & Now” is held in the A&H’s Maitland Art Center Galleries from Aug. 16 through Sept. 29. The exhibition “Founding of Eatonville” is held in the A&H’s Maitland Historical Museum from Aug. 16 through Oct. 6.

Join Central Florida Community Arts this Saturday as they present their third annual Summer Classical Series concert, a performance of Mozart’s Requiem. Nearly 100 voices, along with a full chamber orchestra, will perform this final piece of Mozart’s work – a powerful musical treasure that was unfinished at the time of his death in 1791.
