Early voting for the primary election runs through Saturday, Aug. 11. One of the 10 polling centers is the Winter Park Library, 460 E. New England Ave., which is open to Orange County voters from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Bring a photo ID. The Winter Park Police Department and the Victim Service Center of Central Florida will host free women’s safety awareness classes for all interested women that have a tie to the city of Winter Park. The class is Thursday, Aug. 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the police department, located at 500 N. Virginia Ave. The class is for women only, ages 14 and older. The Art & History Museums – Maitland (A&H) continues its popular Summer Concerts in the Garden - Art. Music. Food. Architecture. on Friday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. The Dave Capp Project takes the stage for an evening of music and fun in the Main Garden, 231 W. Packwood Ave., Maitland. Patrons can also hear literary readings from Maitland Poets & Writers, stop by the A&H’s Main Galleries to view the exhibition “A Day in the Life of the Research Studio,” and shop at the Museum Store. Back by popular demand is Feast Beast Food Truck. A bar is available for those who would like to purchase alcohol. Guests are not permitted to bring in their own alcohol. The Enzian partners with us, bringing delicious hot popcorn for our guests to enjoy. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or a low-backed chair. Admission is $3. Holler Honda is holding a blood drive on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to support Florida’s Blood Centers at 2211 N. Semoran Blvd. All donors will receive a Fandango movie pass as a thank-you gift. They also will be offering child identification cards through Children’s Safety Village from 10 a.m. to noon to help families prepare for emergencies such as hurricane evacuations. The Young Executives of the Citrus Club, a network of young professionals in Central Florida, will host its fourth annual “Diamonds Are Forever” Casino Night benefit on Saturday, Aug. 11, at The Citrus Club, located on the 18th floor of the BB&T building, 225 S. The André Smith Restoration Project will hold a silent auction to support the restoration of eight newly discovered André Smith paintings on Aug. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Maitland Art Center, 231 W. Packwood Ave. The paintings were donated to Eatonville’s St. Lawrence AME Church in the 1930s and are of historical significance to the town of Eatonville as well as the Maitland Art Center. The Art & History Museums – Maitland’s (A&H) continues its popular Artists’ Critique & Conversation series on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. This professional development series for artists is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month in the A&H’s Germaine Marvel Building, 210 W. Packwood Avenue, Maitland. The program is free and the public is encouraged to attend. Each critique is led by artist, arts writer and instructor Josh Garrick. Joining Garrick as guest panelists on Aug. 28 are Robin Maria Pedrero and Terry Hummel. Artists of every medium and skill level are encouraged to participate in the critiques. Packwood Ave. The Art & History Museums – Maitland exhibit, ”A Day in the Life of the Research Studio,” is at the A&H’s Maitland Art Center Galleries through Sept. 19. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, and $2 for seniors (55 and older) and for children (4-18 years).
