ALL WEEK

Jersey Mike’s Subs will hold a grand opening and free sub fundraiser in Maitland from Wednesday, May 2, to Friday, May 11. The new restaurant, located at 246 N. Orlando Ave., will circulate 10,000 coupons throughout the community, offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Hugz from Bugz.

The Winter Park Sip and Stroll, hosted by the Park Avenue Area Association and the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on May 3 at the corner of Morse Boulevard and Park Avenue. The cost is $30 per person in advance. Visit winterpark.org

Carol Stein is back by popular demand in her cabaret “A Little Naughty Music,” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, and Thursday, May 17, as part of the popular Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series. The Baldwin Park Merchants Association will debut its First Friday Charity Festival along New Broad Street in the heart of downtown Baldwin Park on May 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Baldwin Park merchants will be offering live music, drink specials, free samples, interactive activities and much more. This month’s event will benefit The Lost Pets Foundation.

Learn self defense from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 7 and May 10. The Winter Park Police Department and the Victim Service Center of Central Florida frequently host free women’s safety awareness classes for all interested women that have a tie to the city of Winter Park. There is no special dress or equipment needed. This class is ladies only and is limited to the first 25 who sign up. Ages 14 and older are welcome. Monday mornings at 11 a.m. at the Winter Park Community Center, there’s a 50-minute Deep Stretch Yoga class that is great for beginners, as well as anyone who wants to get a intensive stretch after a long run or bike ride. Yoga props such as weight balls, yoga belts and ballet bar are used to help deepen stretches. Classes are drop in and cost $8.
