SING AND DANCE WITH ALINA CELESTE

SATURDAY, JULY 8

BUTTERFLIES AND HUMMINGBIRDS

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Nehrling Gardens, 2267 Hempel Ave., Gotha. This open day in the gardens will feature classes focused on gardening to attract butterflies and hummingbirds, led by native plant expert Alan Shapiro, as well as a plant sale of wild sage, native lantana, firespike and more. GOLDEN POND BENEFIT SALE

PAINTING FOR THE SOUL

RIBBON CUTTING: SYDNEY’S READING AND LEARNING CENTER

4 to 8 p.m. (ribbon cutting at 5 p.m.) at Sydney’s Reading and Learning Center, near JCPenney at the West Oaks Mall, 9401 W. Colonial Drive, Ocoee. This is a grand reopening of the not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping children read. Refreshments will be served.
