NAI Realvest negotiates new lease at Horatio Professional Center

Real estate firm NAI Realvest recently negotiated a new lease agreement for 5,153 rentable square feet at Horatio Professional Center, located at 541 E. Horatio Ave. in Maitland. Mary Frances West, CCIM, senior broker associate at NAI Realvest, brokered the transaction on behalf of the landlord Dallas-based Horatio Florida Partners LLC. The new tenant Humphreys and Partners Architects leased Suite 100 in the professional building located just off U.S. Highway 17-92.

Manno earns Certified Relocation Professional designation

Elizabeth Manno, relocation director for Fannie Hillman + Associates of Winter Park, is one of only 211 members of the Worldwide ERC to earn the Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation this year. The CRP designation identifies those who successfully pass a rigorous exam that demonstrates their detailed knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the employee mobility industry, as well as an unswerving dedication to their on-going professional development.

Alfond Inn exceeds income expectations

Approaching its one-year anniversary, The Alfond Inn at Rollins College is exceeding expectations from a hospitality, philanthropic and cultural standpoint. High occupancy rates at the 112-room boutique hotel have resulted in $3.2 million in projected net operating income for 2014, which will fund full scholarships for students at the nationally ranked liberal arts school. The Inn, which is owned by Rollins, cost $32.5 million to build and was funded in part by a $12.5-million lead gift from the Harold Alfond Foundation; the additional $20 million was financed by the school’s cash reserve.

Orange County Sheriff appointed to FEMA council

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings was one of 12 new members appointed to Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Advisory Council this month. The NAC is an advisory committee established by federal law to ensure effective and ongoing coordination of federal emergency management activities. Members represent the whole community and include representatives from a wide array of backgrounds and communities involved or affected by the emergency management profession. The NAC consists of up to 35 members.
