Police promotions

The Maitland Police Department held its largest promotion ceremony in recent years on June 2. The officers promoted to sergeant were: Taylor Stitt, Matthew Rowe and Ray Link. The sergeants promoted to lieutenant were: Chris Ohalek, Brian Diller, Louis Grindle and Hayden Bonas. Promoted from lieutenant to captain is Dawn D’Ambrosio. With the promotion, D’Ambrosio is the highest-ranking female in the department’s history and its first female captain.

A night of funds

The 18th annual Starry, Starry Night fundraiser for Rollins College Hamilton Holt School was held on Friday, April 11, bringing in more than $162,000. The proceeds will be used for scholarships for adult and non-traditional students attending the school. Classic cars outside the Alfond Gymnasium greeted the event’s 500 guests on the Rollins campus. Funds were raised through silent and live auctions of exotic trips and artwork.
