Life before AC

Not many of us remember life without air conditioning, but the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) recently interviewed some seniors who do. Hear their heartwarming stories of how they beat the summer heat before the days of AC on the PSC’s website. You’ll also hear their friendly advice to young people about how to conserve energy and save money on summer utility bills.

Going above and beyond

Junior Achievement of Central Florida (JA) recently presented Winter Park resident Jessie Jackman with an Above and Beyond Award, which is given annually to volunteers or organizations who stand out as passionate and dedicated advocates and supporters of JA. The award was presented during JA’s 2013 Annual Meeting, where they celebrated another successful year in empowering students in Central Florida to succeed.

Making utility payments easy
