Florida Blue offers grief counseling to Orlando community

Florida Blue, in partnership with New Directions Behavioral Health, is offering support to individuals and loved ones affected by recent tragic events in Orlando. The company is providing the community access to specially trained behavioral health counselors via a 24-hour, toll-free help line at 800-843-6514. The grief counselor support is free of charge to anyone in the Orlando area, and is available to both English and Spanish-speaking individuals. The help line is available to affected individuals whether or not they are Florida Blue members. Grief counselors also will be available in person at the Florida Blue Retail Centers, located at 434 N. Orlando Ave. in Winter Park and 385 Cypress Gardens Blvd. in Winter Haven. Counselors will be onsite during normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Winter Park Health Foundation donates $100,000 to OneOrlando

Last week the Winter Park Health Foundation Board of Trustees met and committed $100,000 to address community needs in the aftermath of the Pulse tragedy. The funds will be donated to the OneOrlando Fund established by the city of Orlando and administered by the Central Florida Foundation. The OneOrlando Fund will support nonprofit organizations in their efforts to help victims and families; the LGBTQ, Hispanic, faith and other affected communities; underlying causes of this tragic event, and other needs as they arise.
