Full Sail grads win Grammys

Full Sail University is proud to announce that 14 graduates worked on 13 Grammy-winning projects across 15 categories at the 58th annual Grammy Awards, which aired Monday, Feb. 15, hosted by LL Cool J. Of these graduates, one alum, Brendan Morawski, earned a Grammy Award for his work as an assistant engineer on Taylor Swift’s “1989,” which won Album of the Year. Full Sail University graduates have mixed, recorded, or assisted on 19 Grammy-winning Album of the Year releases over the past 26 years. In total, 36 Full Sail graduates were credited on 35 artists’ releases that were nominated across 32 separate categories. Local students shine in Science Olympiad

Orlando Science Schools middle and high school students recently took home trophies from Science Olympiad’s Central Florida Regional Tournament. OSS – a public charter school in Orange County that focuses on STEM education – offers a Science Olympiad program for both middle and high school students to compete in teams against other schools in events related to earth science, biology, chemistry, physics and engineering. More than 7,400 teams across the country compete in these events annually. The OSS teams competed with more than 30 teams – resulting in first and second place honors for the middle school team and a third place honor for the high school team within their division. Individual medals included 17 gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals in events across all science disciplines.
