‘A Cinderella Story’
The 1950s is the setting for Val Caniparoli’s picturesque “A Cinderella Story,” a re-telling of everybody’s favorite fairy tale. Performed by the Orlando Ballet, this unique vision of the story comes to us with couture-inspired costumes, choreography created for Richard Rodgers’ music, and a score for jazz orchestra with live music from the Central Florida Community Arts Big Band. At the Springs Concert 2017, the Orlando Philharmonic and world-class touring act Jeans ‘n Classics celebrate the music of the Swedish singing sensation ABBA. ‘Matilda’
Winner of 50 international awards, including four Tony Awards, “Matilda the Musical” is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her destiny. Based on the novel by Roald Dahl, “Matilda” continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages on Broadway and in London’s West End. ‘Wish Upon a Star’
The growth of the CFCArts Community Choir to more than 330 voices makes it one of the largest in the country. This achievement will be celebrated with a Disney revue aptly titled, “Wish Upon a Star.” With music from the classics such as “Cinderella” and “Peter Pan” as well as the blockbusters “Frozen” and “Lion King,” this multi-media production will see actors, dancers, singers and musicians bring to life the world of Disney fun for all ages. ‘Murder for Two’
Everyone is a suspect in this hilarious musical-murder-mystery with a twist. One actor plays the investigator, and the other plays 13 suspects — while both play the piano. Julianne and Derek Hough
Dance Superstar siblings Julianne and Derek Hough will star in their all-new dance production “MOVE Beyond — Live on Tour” at the Dr. Phillips Center. ‘The Gilded Age’
It’s roaring 1920s glamour and Gatsby-esque revelry in one unforgettable party as the 1-year-old wunderkind Opera Orlando makes this year’s gala one of the great events of 2017.
