NOV. 3

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, each Olive Garden restaurant nationwide will host a Spirit Night and donate a portion of in-restaurant sales to their local high school. Both Winter Park High School and Orangewood Christian School are expected to benefit. Guests are encouraged to wear the school colors and join in the celebration. This initiative is in partnership with the NFHS Network, the nation's leading high school sports media company, and is part of Olive Garden’s ongoing commitment to support its local communities. Each Olive Garden location has selected a benefiting local high school. Starting at 4 p.m., a portion of all in-restaurant sales will be donated to that school, up to $1,000 per restaurant.

A screening of the documentary “Paper Tigers,” which offers a look into the lives of students at Lincoln High School, an alternative school for kids with a history of substance abuse or childhood trauma in Walla Walla, Wash., will take place in the auditorium of Edgewater High School on Nov. 3. Foster care and adoption agency Community Based Care of Central Florida, the Early Leaning Coalition of Orange County, and Children’s Cabinet of Orange County are hosting the screening and a panel discussion with community experts in child welfare afterward. It will occur from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Edgewater High School is located at 3100 Edgewater Drive and free parking is available on site. The event is free, but tickets can be obtained at PaperTigers.Eventbrite.com. For more information, email Tim Pehlke at [email protected]
