Egg hunt round-up

Easter is Sunday, April 16, and local municipalities and churches are hosting celebrations featuring egg hunts, games, lunch, snacks and more.

WINTER GARDEN

• The 66th annual Winter Garden Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Winter Garden Lions Club is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at Newton Park, 29 W. Garden Ave. Children up to age 12 can search for thousands of candy-filled eggs at the free event. Other activities will be offered.

• Hope Church Winter Garden begins the day at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 16, with doughnuts, coffee, juice and photo booths. Following the 10:30 a.m. worship service, a huge Egg Grab featuring more than 5,000 eggs will take place. The church is at the Roper YMCA, 100 Windermere Road, Winter Garden.

 

OCOEE

 • The city of Ocoee invites residents to its annual Easter Eggstravaganza for children 12 and younger from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 15, at the Jim Beech Recreation Center, 1820 A.D. Mims Road. The egg hunt begins promptly at 10:30 a.m. Thousands of candy-filled eggs will be scattered across the lawn.  Admission is free. Children can enjoy a variety of fun activities, such as arts and crafts, face painting and bounce houses, and the Easter Bunny will be available for photos. Attendees are encouraged to take non-perishable food items to be donated to the West Orange Christian Service Center. • Ocoee Church of God, 1105 N. Lakewood Ave., is hosting a free event for children 3 to 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15. The afternoon includes an egg hunt and bounce house, plus cotton candy, popcorn and free food.

• Elevation Christian Church, 300 S. Bluford Ave., Ocoee. Free Easter egg hunt with 10,000 eggs and a bounce house following the 10:30 a.m. service.

• Starke Lake Baptist Church, 611 West Ave., Ocoee, is holding its annual egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15. Children ages 2 through sixth grade can hunt for eggs — and the coveted golden egg — and enjoy candy, games, a bounce house and pizza. The event is free.

 

WINDERMERE

• Join Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn, Police Chief Dave Ogden and the Easter Bunny at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, for a parade to Town Square, 520 Main St., where the annual egg hunt will begin. The bunny will be on hand for photos. The town will provide drinks for the children.

• Search for 20,000 eggs in the annual hunt Friday, April 14, at First Baptist Windermere, 8464 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Orlando. Families can also enjoy food trucks, inflatables and more from 5 to 8 p.m. The egg hunt for babies to 4 years is at 6:30 p.m., and the hunt for kindergarten through fifth grade begins at 7 p.m.

 

SOUTHWEST ORANGE

• C/Life Church, at Chain of Lakes Middle School, 8700 Conroy Windermere Road, Orlando, will have more than 10,000 eggs in its annual community Easter egg hunt at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday, April 16. Children will receive a wrist band during the service.
