APRIL 5

Internationally famous astrologer Ostaro will be featured in “The Wonderful World of Ostaro” Friday, April 5, at 8 p.m. at Orlando’s Plaza Live Theater, located at 425 N. Bumby Ave. in Orlando. This event marks the renowned psychic’s first visit to Central Florida, where he and his co-stars will amaze and amuse audience members with an evening of Ostaro’s trademark blend of comedy and psychic predictions. The show, sure to delight the whole family, promises an entertaining evening of fun and fantasy, a combination of contemporary comedy and ancient mysteries. The Baldwin Park Merchants Association will host its next First Friday Festival and Art Stroll on Saturday, April 5, along New Broad Street in Baldwin Park from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The free event is open to the public and is both family and pet-friendly. “pARTicipation: Sideshow of the Senses,” voted Best Arts Event in the DailyCity.com’s Best of Orlando 2013, will be Saturday, April 6, at the A&H’s Maitland Arts Center campus, located at 231 W. Packwood Ave. The event will showcase local visual artists, food and intriguing performances. Attendees can enjoy a progressive dining experience with cuisine by chef Jamie McFadden of Cuisiniers. APRIL 8

The Maitland Art Center, located at 231 W.Packwood Ave., will begin its spring season of classes the week of April 8. Programs for adults include drawing, painting, jewelry, sculpture, pottery, stained glass, multi-media and photography. Children’s programs include pottery, drawing, painting, and the exploration of artistic elements. The center also offers programs for scouting troops and homeschool groups, such as Hats, Teas & History, Carpentry Crew, legacy arts and a variety of art and history workshops. APRIL 12

The Art & History Museums—Maitland (A&H) will take part in the Maitland Chamber of Commerce Spring Festival of the Arts from Friday, April 12, through Sunday, April 14, at Lake Lily Park in Maitland. A&H’s instructors will create plein air works on the A&H’s Waterhouse Residence Museum lawn on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These artists will also create works in sculpture, jewelry, photography, printmaking and more. Admission to the A&H’s Waterhouse Residence Museum is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors 55 and older and children ages 4-18. A&H Members and children 3 and younger are free. The library has brought back LEGOS Engineers, which will be from 4 to 5 p.m. every Monday through Aug. 5. There will be first level and second level classes for grades 3 and up.
