SEPT. 13

Enzian’s Popcorn Flicks in Central Park will feature “Viva Las Vegas” from 8 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13. Gather friends, grab a blanket and enjoy classic family films once a month under the stars in Winter Park’s Central Park. Films and popcorn are free compliments of Enzian. SEPT. 14

On Friday, Sept. 14, Casa Feliz will host “Family Night at Casa Feliz” and show the Pixar movie “Up” on a large screen in the front yard, 656 N. Park Ave. Families are invited to come at 7:30 p.m. to set up a picnic blanket or lawn chairs. The movie will begin at 8 p.m. Popcorn and refreshments will be available. This event is complimentary, but space is somewhat limited on the lawn, so do come early.

SEPT. 15

On Saturday, Sept. 15, all Perkin’s Restaurant and Bakery customers will receive a complimentary short stack of buttermilk pancakes and, in exchange, are encouraged to donate an amount of their choosing directly to Give Kids the World. Join your local Perkin’s restaurant at 6425 University Blvd., Winter Park.

SEPT. 21

Movies in the Park will feature “Hotel for Dogs” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, on the Village Center Green in front of Barnie’s. Family activities will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by entertainment and announcements at 7:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Seating is limited, so arrive early.

SEPT. 22

On Saturday, Sept. 22, more than 3,500 dedicated athletes are expected to fill the streets of downtown Orlando for the 14th Annual Miracle Miles 15K Run, 5K Run/Walk, Kids’ Fun Run and Walk-for-Winnie. For more information, visit orlandohealth.com

Maitland Public Library events:

Landscape Painting with Dorene Butler is Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is required to attend.

Poetry Writing is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16.

Cultural Cooking: Vietnamese Cook Ha Roda demonstrates Spring Rolls at the Library on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. No cost, but registration required.

Learn how to take great photos with any camera at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17. The instructor is artist of the month Paul Miller. His photographs are currently displayed in the Library’s Gallery.

The Maitland Public Library hosts preschool story and craft time every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Baby time stories and activities are at 10:30 a.m. every Thursday. And Reading Buddies for kindergarten through fifth grade at 4 p.m. every Thursday.
