Monday was not easy when it came to eating well. My body had quite an adjustment to make. After a week of eating really well and working out all week, last week I was really excited about taking a cheat day over the weekend. What they don't tell you is that if you take on this cheat day, it is twice as hard to get back in the swim of things on Sunday and Monday.

My body was craving sugars again. I also really wanted some carbs. I felt like my metabolism was going through what I ate so fast and wanting bigger portions. However, the new Kashi cereal I found, Heart to Heart Cinnamon, really hit the spot Monday morning. If you haven't tried these cereals you really should. I started out with the original heart to heart because it is what my mom eats. That was not so great! But I gave it a second shot at the grocery store and picked up the cinnamon flavor. Here are some benefits of the cereal.

  • Support Healthy Cholesterol—1g soluble fiber from oats*
  • Promote Healthy Blood Pressure—low sodium**
  • More For You—each serving is high in antioxidant vitamins C and E. Plus, you’ll get 100% Daily Value of heart healthy vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid.

Here is what my diet looked like

Meal 1: 1 cup Kashi and 1 cup 1% Milk

Meal 2. Sunrise Sunset from Tropical Smoothie No added Sugar

Meal 3: One Slice whole grain bread with Turkey, Lettuce, Mayo

Meal 4: 8 ounces Chicken, grilled vegetables

Meal 5: 1 slice wheat toast with Peanut Butter and 1/2 grapes

Meal 6: Chocolate Milk

Monday I did an aerobics class. It was strength training, but with only your body weight rather than dumbells and it also focused on stomach muscles.

I'm ready for Week 2 but already looking forward to this week's cheat day! I know it is hard to go back but it makes the rest of the week so much easier.
