Maitland residents will have two names to choose from and only one City Council seat to fill during the city’s upcoming March 11 municipal election.

The ballot is set as qualifying closed today at noon, with Councilman John Lowndes reelected unopposed to seat 4, and former City Councilwoman Bev Reponen squaring off against local activist Martha Bryant-Hall for seat 2.

Reponen looks to return to the dais after taking a mandatory election season off after terming-out of six-year stint on the Council last year. Having officially qualified, community leader Bryant-Hall is kicking off her first campaign for public office. Both hope to fill the seat of Councilwoman Linda Frosch, who is terming-out after six years in the seat.
