A new traffic pattern for Independence Lane

Beginning on Friday, Sept. 16, Independence Lane will be narrowed to a one-lane, one-way roadway in the northbound direction.

Motorists looking to drive southbound may use U.S Highway 17-92 and Maitland Avenue instead. Detour signage and a Maintenance of Traffic Plan will be in place.

The temporary traffic pattern is for a period of 12 months. The change is necessary to facilitate the construction of the Maitland City Centre project.

Try the Train campaign

SunRail is offering residents of Maitland to “Try the Train” for free during the week of Sept. 19 to 23. The complimentary tickets will be placed on front doors of Maitland residences within close proximity to the Maitland SunRail station at the end of this week. If your home did not receive tickets, but you would like to try the train for travel to work or for leisure, tickets will be available at Maitland City Hall beginning at noon on Friday, Sept. 16, while supplies last.
