City Council members to take office on April 11

On Monday, April 11, Councilwoman Joy Goff-Marcil and Councilman-Elect Mike Thomas will be sworn into office.

The inauguration ceremony will take place on Monday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Maitland City Hall Council Chambers. The general public is invited to attend this event.

Save the Date: Celebrate Earth Day with the city

The city of Maitland's Utility Billing Department is hosting a free family friendly event with games, activities, giveaways, and free snacks. The Earth Day Birthday Celebration will take place on Friday, April 22, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Maitland Community Park at 1400 Mayo Ave.

Elementary students will have the opportunity to participate in a coloring contest. All submissions will be placed on the city's Facebook page for voting. There are six categories and each category will have its own Facebook album: pre-K through kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade. "Like" any photo to cast your vote. The submission with the most "likes" will win first place for each grade level and a prize. Screen on the Green scheduled for April 2

This month's Screen on the Green movie is “Minions.” You bring the blankets and chairs to the Maitland Middle School soccer field and we will bring you the stars. The movie begins at 8 p.m.

Parkside Chats returns on April 6

Parkside Chats returns with Councilwoman Joy Goff-Marcil as host. The city invites residents to join a member of the City Council for coffee and conversation on Wednesday, April 6. The Parkside Chats series provides residents opportunities to ask questions in a small group. Each session is held at the Maitland Community Park from 8 to 9 a.m.
