Mosaic Church pastor awarded YMCA Ronnie Walker Unsung Hero Award

Renaut van der Riet, lead pastor of Mosaic Church and founder of Axum Coffee, was recognized for building partnerships and creating a culture of compassion in Central Florida.

Renaut van der Riet, lead pastor of Mosaic Church and founder of Axum Coffee, was awarded the Ronnie Walker Unsung Hero Award at the YMCA of Central Florida’s annual meeting.

The YMCA calls him “a true servant leader who always went above and beyond to help others through the Y cause.” Van der Riet is YMCA Metro Board Member and the Chair of the Metro Mission Committee. Through his involvement with the YMCA, the YMCA says he is “building faith new partnerships and inspiring a culture of compassion that improves lives and communities across Central Florida.”

Van der Riet’s Axum Market Cafes is scheduled to open a Healthy Living Cafe in the Dr. P. Phillips YMCA later this year. 

At the annual meeting, Dr. Phillips Charities also received special recognition as YMCA lifetime donor. In 2015, the charities donated $2.9 million to the YMCA, bringing total lifetime contributions to more than $42,204,000.
