The Rotary Club Winter Park donated more than $43,000 to 26 nonprofits serving the Winter Park area at its meeting on Monday, Aug. 27.

“Every penny we raise in the efforts is turned around and given in grant form to non-profit organizations serving the Winter Park community,” Rotary President and Polasek Museum Executive Director Debbie Komanski said.

Of the funds, $35,000 was raised at the club’s Chili for Charity event in February.

The other groups to receive grants were: Winter Park Memorial Hospital, Lighthouse Central Florida, Winter Park Improvement Foundation, Winter Park Library, MicheLee Puppets, Crealdé School of Art, BETA Center, Mead Botanical Gardens, the Valencia Foundation, Family Promise of Greater Orlando, the Center for Memory Disorders, ITN Orlando, Habitat for Humanity of Winter Park-Maitland, Winter Park Playhouse, the Adult Literacy League, Boy Scouts of America, Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, Horizon Communities in Prison, Winter Park Historical Associations & Museum, A Gift for Teaching, Easter Seals Florida, Junior Achievement of Central Florida, The Rollins College Community School of Music and New Hope for Kids.
