School bus crash in Ocoee leaves 5 students injured

Orange County Public School officials said the five students had minor injuries.

Around 8:20 a.m. Friday, an Orange County Public Schools bus heading to Thornebrooke Elementary School carrying 64 students collided with another vehicle, leaving five students with minor injuries, Ocoee police said.

The crash occurred on Old Winter Garden Road and Blackwood avenue, near the entrance to the Advenir at The Oaks.

Four of the injured students were transported to Health Central Hospital and a fifth student was transported to Florida Hospital Winter Garden.

The remaining students were either picked up by their parents or remained in OCPS custody. The driver of the other vehicle was treated and released at the scene. 

The vehicle crash is currently being investigated by the Ocoee Police Department.
