To coincide with the release of the film “Concussion,” the Florida High School Athletic Association issued a release Dec. 18 touting its efforts to reduce the risk of concussions during competition.

Per the statement, “This is not a new issue for the FHSAA; for the past 10 years, the FHSAA and our partners at the National Federation of High School Associations have worked to minimize risk in all sports.”

The association was among the first to implement a comprehensive concussion protocol and return to play policy in 2012. The compete statement can be found at fhsaa.org.
