In 1965, residents wanting to check out books had to visit this building on Maple Street.

In 1965, The Winter Garden Times published a photo of the city's local library.

The West Orange Library, the first Bookmobile Station in Orange County, was located at the west end of Maple Street near Gate 1 of Walker Athletic Field. It moved to that location in fall 1960. Prior to that, the library was located in the basement of Winter Garden City Hall.

Mrs. Gordon Watson was the librarian in 1965.
