The classified section in the Oct. 9, 1975, issue of The Winter Garden Times claimed: “Treasures and trash will bring you cash in our want ads. Call 656-2121, the magic money number.” One could buy or sell sewing machines, pets, boats, appliances, property and cars.

It was also chock full of tidbits, such as the crossword puzzle answers or “Pun My Word!” by Ernie Hawk: “A rug salesman always carried a dog or cat with him on his calls so he could be sure to have a car pet.”
