Can’t wait until Monday to treat your sweetheart? There are Valentine’s Day-themed events going on in the Winter Park/Maitland area every day this week:

Special offer on the Avenue

Park Avenue Area Association members are supporting Harbor House of Central Florida’s Go Violet campaign benefiting survivors of domestic violence by encouraging their customers to purchase an African Violet in lieu of roses this Valentine’s Day. For more information, visit HarborHouseFl.com/Violets/What-Have-Your-Valentine-s-Day-Roses-Done-Lately/. Merchants will also be contributing a portion of their proceeds on select purple items during the campaign, including: BAJALIA Trading Co., Bangz, Simmons Jewelers and Tuni.

Thursday

The Spice and Tea Exchange, at 309 Park Ave. N., will host The Bohemian Baker, Holly Luisi, who will teach a class called “Sensuous Valentine Delights” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10. Dishes include exotic kabobs, strawberry soup and luscious lavender teacakes. In this class, they will use some of the more exotic spices that are sure to delight your Valentine, making the night even more memorable. Pricing is $30 per class. Palmano’s Trattoria & Wine Bar is having a Valentine’s Day Wine Dinner from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10. They’ll feature dinner from Palmano’s and wine from Opici Wine Imports. This family style, five-course dinner includes fine Italian wines and exclusive meals not found on the everyday menu. Price is $75 plus tax and gratuity and it’s limited to 30 guests. Friday

Morse Museum of American Art will offer free admission to the museum from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11 where music by ‘Beautiful Music Jazz Trio,’ flute, guitar and upright bass will be played.

From 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, in the garden outside Germaine Marvel, Performing Arts of Maitland brings Blues Mama and the Maj Band to the Art and History Museums Culture and Cocktails, Second Friday event. Admission is $5 at the door.

Saturday

The Glitz Gala will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, in the Maitland Civic Center. The black-tie optional event will have an open bar, silent and live auctions, Wearable Art by Scott Laurent and music by the Maitland Stage Band. Tickets are $65, or $250 per couple (includes $100 in Glitz dollars), and can be purchased by contacting Renee Charlan at 407-376-3915 or June Flowers at 321-303-1404. The event is to benefit the Maitland Cultural Corridor Project.

The Bach Festival Society Annual Preview Concert begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at Tiedtke Concert Hall, Rollins College. Enjoy a sample of what the 76th annual festival has in store. This event is free to the public.

Sunday

Valentine’s Brunch: The Enzian celebrates Valentine’s Day with a romantic movie and brunch on Sunday, Feb. 13. Brunch is from 10-11:30 a.m. and the movie, “Roman Holiday”, will begin at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $150 per couple.

The city of Winter Park invites you to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart at one of Central Florida’s oldest and most beautiful golf courses, the Winter Park Country Club (WPCC), located at 761 Old England Ave. Join us for the Valentine’s “Scramble” and Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 13. The shotgun scramble begins at 3 p.m. and admission is only $5 plus greens fees. Participants are encouraged to bring a dish to share. Please bring a treat and get ready for nine holes of fun! The Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra will host its annual Celebration of Music Education Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13 at College Park Baptist Church, 1914 Edgewater Drive. Tickets range from $8-$30, with two complimentary tickets available to any music educator in Central Florida. Special Valentine’s-themed adventure will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13. This event is designed for singles, couples or friends looking for a unique way to spend time together in historic Winter Park. “Music at the Casa:” Casa Feliz Historic Home Museum in Winter Park will feature free, live music by ‘Beautiful Music Luxury Chamber Quartet’ from noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13.

On Sunday, Feb. 13, carrying on the tradition of the “Leu Gardens Valentines Stroll,” Michael Andrew & Swingerhead will be appearing this year at Central Park in downtown Winter Park to celebrate romance and Valentine’s Day. The music (and romance) will start at 4 p.m. Continue the romance after the concert with dinner reservations at one of the restaurants that made this event possible. Monday

Date Night Movie at Leu Gardens will present “An Officer and a Gentleman,” at sundown Monday, Feb. 14. Bring a blanket or chairs and dinner picnic basket to enjoy this month’s movie. Admission is $5 per person.

Part of the Focus Series from the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, “Concertante” will be performed at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14 at the Margeson Theater located in the John & Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Centre.
