Sept. 6 City Commission Strategic Planning Session

The City Commission will hold a strategic planning session on Friday, Sept. 6, beginning at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Winter Park Community Center located at 721 W. New England Avenue. The City Commission is scheduled to discuss the following topics:

• Undergrounding of Electric Lines

• City Bus or Circulator System

• Downtown Parking

• Gateway Corridors

• Urban Forestry Master Plan

The public is invited to attend, however, no public comment will be taken.

Free Winter Park Farmers Market Bike Valet

On Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Keep Winter Park Beautiful (KWPB) and the Pedestrian & Bicycle Advisory Board will be providing a free Bike Valet service at the Winter Park Farmers Market as an incentive for alternative modes of transportation in the city of Winter Park’s beautiful downtown. Sept. 9 City Commission Work Session

There will be a City Commission Work Session on Monday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. in City Hall Commission Chambers. The public is invited to attend, however, no public comment will be taken.

Consent Agenda

• Approve the following formal solicitation:

• Award purchase order to Moore, Stephens, Lovelace for RFP-26-2013, External Audit Services, and authorize the mayor to execute the contract.

• Authorize the mayor to execute the Settlement Agreement and Mutual Release with Duke Energy Florida.

• Approve the Motorola Solutions Services Agreement (Radio Maintenance, Network Security and Monitoring) expenditure from State Forfeiture Funds in compliance with Florida State Statute 932.7055(5)(1).

Public hearings

• Request of the city of Winter Park:

• Second reading of the ordinance revising the permitted and conditional uses regulations for restaurants and other food service establishments; providing definitions for fine dining and other restaurants.

• First reading of the ordinance allowing the city manager to make special exception for dogs to be in Central Park and other prohibited park areas for specific events.

• Adoption of the Fee Schedule effective Oct. 1, 2013.

Budget Public Hearings (Must be held after 5 p.m.)

• First reading of the ordinance adopting the millage rate.

• First reading of the ordinance adopting the Fiscal Year 2014 annual budget.

Popcorn Flicks in the Park featuring "The Shaggy Dog"

On Thursday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m. “The Shaggy Dog” will be presented by Ruth’s Chris and Winter Park CRA and produced by Enzian Theater as part of Popcorn Flicks in the Park.
