City’s proposed FY 2014 budget

One of the city’s most important tasks is the preparation of the annual budget. The theme of our FY 2014 budget is “Focused on Quality.” As you read the document, you will find that all of the items included in the proposed budget are focused on maintaining and enhancing our residents’ high quality of life.

To do this, staff has to continually look at city services all year long. Then in March, as we enter into the intense budget season, staff takes a microscopic look at what we provide to maintain residents standard of living and present a balanced budget to the Commission in July. It is finalized by the City Commission with adoption of the budget and millage rates at the second public hearing Monday, Sept. 23.

The public is able to review the proposed budget online at cityofwinterpark.org > Info at Your Fingertips > Budget Documents, and also has the opportunity to share any comments or feedback about the proposed budget at each City Commission meeting leading up to final adoption in September. Please make plans to attend if you’d like to learn how your hard-earned tax dollars are proposed to be used and how the city is “Focused on Quality” this upcoming fiscal year.
