NOV 8 CRA BOARD MEETING

The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board will be meeting at 2 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 8, in City Hall Commission Chambers to discuss valet services in downtown and the Park Avenue Area marketing request for proposal.

Immediately following the meeting, the board will adjourn and the City Commission will conduct an Executive Session in Room 200.

NOV 8 CITY COMMISSION MEETING TOPICS OF INTEREST

There will be a City Commission meeting on Monday, Nov. 8, at 3:30 p.m., in City Hall Commission Chambers. Below are a few topics of interest:

CITY BOARD REPORT & UPDATE:

CRA Advisory Board.

NON-ACTION ITEMS:

Library update.

CONSENT AGENDA:

Approve the minutes of Oct. 25.

•Approve the agreement between AT&T(r) Wireless or assignee and Clear Wireless, LLC, for installation of additional equipment on the 170’ communications tower at the Public Safety Facility.

•Allow a special inflatable shopping bag, storefront banner, and countdown banner as part of the Publix re-opening special event of Thursday, Nov. 18.

•Approve award to HD Supply Utilities, Ltd, for the purchase of electric transformers.

•Approve award to Timothy Jarrells Lawncare Service as the primary contractor and to TJ’s Quality Construction Cleanup, LLC, as secondary contractor; and authorize the Mayor to execute both contractor agreements.

•Authorize purchase with Consolidated Electrical Distributors for switchgear, TVSS and fuses for the community center project.

•Approval of purchases and contracts.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

•First reading of the ordinance regarding salary increases for City Commission.

•Proposed charter amendments:

•First reading of the ordinance regarding a charter referendum election Tuesday, March 8, 2011, to provide that the Mayor and seats 1 and 2 are elected to four-year terms at the election in 2014, and seats 3 and 4 are elected to four-year terms at the election in 2016, and thereafter the terms continue to be four year terms in office.

•First reading of the ordinance regarding a charter referendum election to provide that the Mayor and City Commissioners are limited to three consecutive full terms of office, subject to the condition that if the voters reject the charter amendment providing four-year terms, this provision is null and void.

•First reading of an ordinance authorizing the refunding of all outstanding water and sewer revenue bonds, series 2004; providing for the issuance of not exceeding $14 million revenue bonds.

Second reading of the ordinance regarding red-light cameras.

•First reading of an ordinance to adopt regulations for signs in office districts on four-lane roads and for signs along Interstate 4.

•First reading of an ordinance regarding a lakefront setback code amendment.

PARK & FAIRBANKS AVENUE CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC NOV 4

In honor of Rollins College’s 125th Anniversary Celebration, an academic procession will make its way down Park Avenue on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 8:30 a.m. Park Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Lyman to Holt avenues between 8:30-9 a.m. Park Avenue will be immediately open to through traffic once all pedestrians in the procession have safely crossed Fairbanks Avenue.

IMPROVEMENTS TO EAST MORSE BLVD COMPLETE

On Friday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m., the City of Winter Park and the Community Redevelopment Agency will proudly present a grand opening ceremony in celebration of recent renovations to East Morse Boulevard that were conducted between Park and Interlachen avenues.
