Winter Garden resident artist John Connell is the newest faculty member of the Crealde School of Art, and he will be teaching a six-week art class at the Jessie Brock Community Center starting this week.

He will share his knowledge of painting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the center on North Dillard Street in Winter Garden.

Connell retired from Orange County five years ago and took up painting. He and his class will experiment with vibrant and bold colors of acrylic paint on a variety of mediums, materials and surfaces. Attendees can try their hand at a dirty pour, flip cup or puddle pour — creating one-of-a-kind paintings.
