On Tuesday, Sept. 7, Orlando Health announced that it will be opening the Community Grant Program for the 2022 cycle.

The Orlando Health Community Grant Program offers competitive grants that assist local organizations and Orlando Health team members in their efforts to improve health and wellness in the area.

Lainie Fox Ackerman, assistant vice president of Orlando Health External Affairs and Community Benefit, spoke out about the importance of the grant program in a press release.

“This program is just one of the ways we’re able to further support the impactful work organizations are doing to improve the health of our communities throughout Central Florida,” Ackerman said. “By joining forces with partners to address important health needs, we can ensure a healthier future for the communities we serve.”

In the last cycle of the program, Orlando Health was able to award more than $350,000. This year, applicants can apply for grants between the suggested amounts of $500 and $50,000.

Recipients of the grants received funding for programs such as needs identified in the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment, programs involving assisting families and residents who are facing food insecurity, socioeconomic challenges and have limited access to healthcare services, and more.

Those interested in applying for a grant must submit a letter of intent by Sept. 17 through a form found on Orlando Health’s Community Grant Program website which should be emailed to [email protected]. Once completed, those selected for the second phase of the application process will be asked to submit a grant proposal by Oct. 29.
