“World War II and West Orange County” is the latest exhibition at the Winter Garden Heritage Museum and pays tribute to the men and women of West Orange County who fought thousands of miles away from American shores in the 1940s.

Winter Garden and West Orange County contributed to the war effort by supplying military personnel and healthful citrus products. Citizens volunteering on the home front trained as plane spotters for the Ground Observer Corps and recycled metal objects for use by the armed forces.

The photographs, archived letters and featured objects are on display through May 31 at the museum, 1 N. Main St., Winter Garden. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
