Winter Garden eatery The Peach Cobbler Factory has announced an update on its opening.

Greg George, CEO of the business, said on social media Tuesday, Oct. 10, that although the opening has taken longer than expected, the shop is making progress and will announce an official opening date soon.

"Today I come to the residents of Winter Garden and Orlando to personally apologize for the long wait on us getting our new dessert shop open in Winter Garden," he said. "The burden falls on me personally as things have not happened as fast as any of us had wanted. I wanted to apologize to everyone for the long wait and let you know we certainly did not want to cause any frustration."

The eatery was supposed to originally open mid-August.

George said the business had to construct a new dessert shop, which has been a major undertaking.

"This has taken us a long time, but we wanted to make sure we created a beautiful dessert shop for the town's people," he said. "Our shop will be ultra clean, family friendly, safe and we will provide customer service at the highest level."
