Signature Bakehouse will open its first brick-and-mortar location in April in Ocoee.

Horizon West business owner Will Lenhart hosted his first sale on National Pie Day, Jan. 23, 2023.

Lenhart and his son put together a free pie giveaway at Independence Community Park after school. Lenhart made 25 pies, cut them up into little slices and gave the pieces away.

Since then, the business has continued to grow and has become a popular favorite at several local farmers markets.

Lenhart will continue to offer his popular cottage pie business at the markets, as well as at the new location in the West Oaks Mall, 9401 W. Colonial Drive, Ocoee.

Ironically enough, the space Signature Bakehouse will move in to was formerly occupied by an Auntie Anne's, a pretzel shop that originally started off at a farmers market in Pennsylvania, the same state Lenhart's baking journey began in.

Lenhart is hoping to soft open the business on April 10, with a grand opening planned for April 14.

In addition to the bakery's seasonal menu, take-and-bake savory pies and cream pies will be available in 4-inch and 9-inch sizes.

Fresh-baked savory pies also will be available, in flavors such as roasted chicken, beef and Guinness, and vegetable curry.

"What a year it has been," Lenhart said. "It's been a great ride. I've got to say, a lot of trials and tribulations. A lot of emotion and a lot of balance trying to be a husband, a father, a cook and a chef. I mean, it's no joke being a stay-at-home dad on top of starting a business. It's been really challenging. More mentally than anything, but the calm is what I'm most excited for at the location. I'm excited to get in and do what I love to do, which is bake pie and talk to people. I'm really excited to build relationships with the people of Ocoee and throughout Central Florida and to provide them with the best quality pie at a fair price. That's what I'm really looking forward to."
