A portion of Ninth Street is closed for sewer line improvements in Winter Garden

A portion of Ninth Street between Cypress Street and Story Road will be closed until August 16 for the installation of a new sewer main, according to the city of Winter Garden.

Detour signs have been placed on and around in the area to direct drivers through alternate routes to access Story Road. Westbound traffic on Colonial Drive will be redirected to Dillard Street and Story Road and eastbound traffic will use Carter and Story Roads.

The 9th Street Gravity Sewer and Force Main Improvement Project, which began in June, is upgrading water and sewer lines between Regal Pointe Boulevard and Plant Street, according to the city's website.
