Leah Jennings-Thompson, a former Windermere resident now living on Nassau, the Bahamas, is safe but she knows many who are suffering after Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamian islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama this week.

She is coordinating with the Bahamas Red Cross, Nine To Five Import Ltd. And Post Boxes Etc. to provide for residents’ immediate needs. The Commonwealth of the Bahamas issued a list of what is needed.

An Amazon wish list has been created, and people can go online to shop, ship and donate items. The donations will be shipped to the importers in Fort Lauderdale and will be distributed to the Bahamas Red Cross.

To donate items, go to amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1MTQNAFAVTXQM… Some of the most immediate items needed are chainsaws, wheelbarrows, rakes and shovels.

The shipping address is Nine To Five Imports Ltd., 1811 NW 51st. St., Hanger 42 D, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.

When shoppers get to the shipping option, they must choose the Hurricane Relief Wishlist as their option so the items will ship directly to the hanger for import onto the islands.

For information, contact Jennings-Thompson at [email protected].
