Bakely's shuts down

Bakely's Restaurant on Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park has closed. That space will soon be a Keke's Breakfast Café.

It's the first franchise of Keke's, which has a location on Conroy Road near the Millenia mall, called the Florida Waffle Shop. Its name will soon change to Keke's because of trademark issues.

"When we filed a trademark application for the Florida Waffle Shop, our application was denied due to breakfast restaurant with a similar name," owner Kevin Mahen said on the business' Web site. "To assure that no future issues would arise when 'trademarking' our new name, we decided to just make up a name."

They don't just serve fruit-filled waffles and pancakes. There is a full lunch menu too. For more information, visit kekescafe.com.
