A 13-year-old who was wanted in a fatal, early-morning shooting in Winter Garden has turned himself in, police say.

According to Captain Scott Allen of the Winter Garden Police Department, 13-year-old Vamari Bostic turned himself in to custody Thursday after police obtained a warrant for his arrest July 4.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 2 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of West Crown Point Road and Edgeway Drive, according to a news release from police. Officers said they discovered James Anthony Bacon, 25, who had been shot in the torso.

Bacon was transported to the hospital, but the victim died soon after arrival.

Police said Bacon was walking north along West Crown Point Road when he encountered Bostic and was shot.

Allen said police obtained a warrant for first degree murder for Bostic.

The incident was related to a weeks-long dispute between the two, according to authorities.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Winter Garden Police Department at (407) 656-3636.
