BREAKING NEWS: Fatal crash under investigation along State Road 429

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A fatal crash occurred on State Road 429 at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, June 6, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash took place in the southbound lanes at mile marker 24 — just north of the West Colonial Drive exit between Winter Garden and Ocoee — and involved a pickup truck that overturned.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and three other occupants have been taken to Orlando Health, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

As of 9:22 p.m., one southbound lane remained open.
