BREAKING NEWS: Suspicious package outside Winter Park public safety building deemed not hazardous

UPDATE: At approximately 5:45 p.m. the Winter Park Police Department made an announcement that the package was not hazardous and that nearby roads would open back up shortly.

A suspicious package placed outside the Winter Park public safety building is currently under investigation.

All roads around the building are closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

The package appeared outside the building at 500 N. Virginia Ave. at around 4 p.m., according to Lt. John Montgomery of the Winter Park Police Department.
