Workers staying longer at jobs

The Employee Benefit Research Institute reports that the overall median tenure of workers — the midpoint of wage and salary workers’ length of employment in their current jobs — was slightly higher in 2012 at 5.4 years, compared with 5.2 years in 2010 and 5.0 years 29 years ago, in 1983.

TD Bank has promoted George Seda to small business relationship manager in Winter Park. As vice president he is responsible for providing a range of commercial lending and deposit services to new and existing small business clients throughout the Seminole, Orange and Osceola county region.

NAI Realvest recently completed a lease agreement for 2,490 square feet of office space at 917 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in the Winter Park Commerce Center near downtown Winter Park. Michael Heidrich, principal at NAI Realvest, negotiated the transaction representing the landlord, Winter Park-based WFI, LLP. A local massage therapy firm, Gifted Touch, LLC, is the new tenant.

Polly Anderson, a 16-year veteran of public broadcasting, has been hired as executive director of WUCF TV, Central Florida’s home for PBS. The hire follows a national search for the new position at the University of Central Florida. Anderson has more than 25 years of experience in management, marketing, finance, communications, strategic operations and media management. She comes to WUCF TV from KNME, New Mexico PBS and will join WUCF TV in early February.

Marlow’s Tavern leased the former McDonald’s Restaurant location at 1008 S. Orlando Ave., Winter Park. The 6,151-square-foot building is on 1.3 acres. The tenant signed a long-term lease.

The Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) Board of Trustees has added three members and elected new officers for 2013. New trustees include Harold Barley, executive director of MetroPlan Orlando; Dr. William Marvin Hardy, IV, medical director and pediatrician at Grace Medical Home and J. Kurt Wood, director of client service at DePrince, Race & Zollo Inc.

New and existing housing sales are up in almost every region of Florida and real estate sales professionals are bracing for a busy 2013, according to Roger Soderstrom, founder and owner of Stirling Sotheby’s International Realty in Orlando.
