Rollins College President Emerita Rita Bornstein was recently honored by Junior Achievement of Central Florida with the the 2012 Henry Cragg Award. The award recognizes a local JA supporter who has exceeded expectations in helping JA in its mission to provide Central Florida students with an appreciation for the free enterprise system.

Bank of America announced that it is hiring more than 130 small business bankers across Florida as part of the company’s goal to hire more small business bankers nationwide. Santiago “Oscar” Franceschinni is the banker who will be serving small businesses across the Winter Park area.

Winston James Development Company leased a 938-square-foot suite at Aloma Business Center on Aloma Avenue in Winter Park to Mako Shark, a commercial and residential electrical contractor.

NAI Realvest recently negotiated a new industrial lease agreement for 1,875 square feet in Suite 330, 6124 Hanging Moss Road at Hanging Moss CommerCenter in Orlando.

Mitchell’s Fish Market, located within the Winter Park Village, will be offering a fabulous new fall prix-fixe menu offering a three-course meal starting at $19.99. The culinary team hand-selected a variety of items for the new menu featuring an appetizer, entrée and dessert.

Massey Communications will be assisting with public relations and marketing efforts for Easter Seals Florida.

Our Whole Community announced its new slate of officers and directors for the 2012-13 term. Lavon Williams, a graduate of Deland Senior High School and a veteran of the United States Army, was elected as OWC president. Cris Parsons, a Winter Park resident for 15 years, who serves as chair of the Health Cabinet at Redeemer Lutheran Church, was elected vice president. Cathy Semyck, owner and administrator of Winston House Assisted Living in Maitland, was elected secretary.
