The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and partners, including county and municipal government agencies, are holding a public meeting Thursday, Nov.13, in Orlando to provide information on how to coexist with coyotes. Experts will be available to address questions and concerns regarding coyotes in eastern Orange County. The meeting is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the first-floor Commission Chambers of the Orange County Administration Building. The address is 201 S. Rosalind Ave. in Orlando. In an effort to fight hunger this holiday season, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Winter Park Village to host Happy Hour for Hunger on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Village. This fall-themed event will include drinks and appetizers provided by Winter Park Village restaurants, plus live entertainment and a photo booth. All ticket proceeds will benefit “Feed the Need,” Winter Park’s community-wide initiative to raise funds for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Tickets are available through the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce at winterpark.org and at the Winter Park Welcome Center for $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

This holiday season the city of Winter Park will host its sixth annual Winter in the Park Holiday Ice Skating Rink in Central Park from Nov. 14 to Jan. 11. There’s a little bit of winter inside the tent – no matter the temperature outside. The Winter Park Concours d’ Elegance – now in its 13th year – is a full weekend of activities from Nov. 14 to 16 including a Friday evening AeroPort Reception, a Saturday Tour d’ Elegance, and a Sunday Concours on the fairways of the Winter Park Country Club. Sunday’s Concours will display more than 160 of the world’s finest automobiles arranged by make and model, chronologically and by private collection for viewing interest. The International Community School is hosting their second annual Bizarre Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in their gymnasium. The Bizarre Bazaar is a marketplace filled with items crafted by local artisans, as well as merchandise provided by local businesses. You can spend your time walking through the gymnasium and enjoy browsing more than 70 high quality vendors. “S.A.F.E.” (Self-defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange) is a free unparalleled two-hour educational awareness, crime-victim prevention program designed by the National Self-Defense Institute. This program encompasses strategies, techniques, options and prevention methods – that provide teenaged and adult women with information that may reduce their risk of exposure to violence, while introducing them to the basic physical aspects of self-defense. Register, raise funds, and run or walk – that’s all it takes to be a hero in the eyes of a person facing lung cancer. Join hundreds of community members as they gather for a day of impact at the fourth annual Orlando Free to Breathe Run/Walk beginning at 7 a.m. on Nov. 15 at Moss Park. The inspirational event will feature a 5K run/walk and a one-mile walk for all fitness levels, with awards for top fundraisers and finishers. All proceeds from the event support Free to Breathe, a nonprofit lung cancer research and advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring surviving lung cancer is the expectation, not the exception.
