MARCH 6

Save the date for the Economic Update Breakfast, focusing on the state of business after the great recession, from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m. March 6. An economic overview will be provided by Dr. Bill Seyfried, professor of economics at Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business. Afterwards, Dr. Seyfried will moderate a panel discussion with local business leaders on "Life After the Great Recession." Registration deadline is Feb. 27, so act now. MARCH 7

It’s Date Night at Leu Gardens! See a classic movie or current feature film on one of the largest outdoor screens in Central Florida. Come early and enjoy a stroll in the 50-acre garden before the movie. Movies are shown the first Friday of every month from February through December (no movie in July). Pack a dinner picnic basket and a blanket or chairs, alcohol is permitted. Grilled items, popcorn and drinks are available for purchase. This month’s movie is “To Have and Have Not” starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Garden admission is $6 per adult, $3 per child (K-12th grade) and free for Leu Garden Members. The event is weather permitting. Leu Gardens is located at 1920 N. Forest Ave. in Orlando. Get ready for the J Ball, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando’s largest and most important fundraiser of the year. This year’s Ball will honor Bruce Gould for his active and dedicated service to the JCC. It’s an incredible party with casino games, live entertainment, a silent auction, food and drinks. The Winter Park Public Library will present “Top Ten Things you Don’t Know About Your Library” at 7:45 a.m. March 14 at the Winter Park Welcome Center as part of the Good Morning Winter Park series. It’s at 151 W. Lyman Ave. Free continental breakfast will be served.
