Learn about the state of education and jobs in your neck of the woods at the Education Update Breakfast’s presentation of “From Learning to Working: How Winter Park Creates a Strong Workforce.” It’s from 7:45 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday Aug. 22 at the Winter Park Community Center, 721 W. The Winter Park Police Department is offering a Kicks 4 Guns buyback program from 7 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 22 at 1111 W. Fairbanks Ave. in Winter Park. Turn in any firearm, no questions asked, for a $50 gift card to Publix, up to two guns. No cards will be given for BB and pellet type guns.
