Businesses across the country are increasing the "canine employment rate" on Friday, June 22, with Take Your Dog To Work Day! A recent study released by Virginia Commonwealth University touts the benefits of dogs in the workplace, citing reduced perceived stress and increased job satisfaction for employees with their dogs at work.

Art & History Museums – Maitland (A&H) hosts an opening reception for its newest exhibit, “A Day in the Life of the Research Studio,” on Friday, June 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the A&H’s Maitland Art Center Galleries. The reception is free to A&H members and the cost for non-members is $5. The exhibit continues through Sept. 19. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors (55 and older) and for children (4-18 years). A&H members and children (younger than 3) are free.

Mary Love Dance Projects will hold a summer dance intensive for intermediate and advanced pre-professional and professional dancers ages 16 and older. The intensive will take place from June 25-28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harwood Watson Studios, 1015 S. Orlando Ave. The intensive will feature dance technique classes taught by professional company dancers in contact improvisation, classical ballet, contemporary ballet, pilates, modern and repertory. The Winter Park Police Department and the Victim Service Center of Central Florida will host free women’s safety awareness classes for interested women that have a tie to the city of Winter Park. The classes will be offered Thursday, July 5, and Thursday, July 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the WPPD, 500 N. Virginia Ave. Ages 14 and older are welcome. 7.06 Baldwin Park First Friday Festival & Art Stroll will be 6-10 p.m. Friday, July 6, along New Broad Street in the Village Center. Presented by the Baldwin Park Merchants Association and The Arts Hub Florida, this family-friendly event is free and open to the public. This event will feature local businesses and some of the region’s emerging and accomplished local artists of all mediums from the Central Florida community creating their works live with original art for sale.
