The Park Avenue Sip, Shop & Stroll is on Thursday, June 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. The stroll offers appetizers, beverages and sampling of seasonal menus from the shops on the Avenue, as well as the chance to discover new fashion trends and gift ideas. Come out to the 10th annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Educational Symposium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 17, at the Community United Methodist Church, located in 4921 S. U.S. Highway 17-92 in Casselberry. The event will provide information on how to protect elders from crime. There will also be a vendor area staffed by numerous agencies that are on the front line of protecting elders from abuse, exploitation, fraud and identity theft. The 23rd annual Mascot Games, presented by Wawa to benefit New Hope for Kids, will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the Amway Center. The event will feature 26 mascots from top-tier professional and collegiate sports including the NBA, NFL, MLB, NCAA, MLS, NHL and Arena Football League competing in a variety of games in a thrilling show. New Hope for Kids’ mission is to support children and families grieving the death of a loved one and to grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses in Central Florida. The city of Winter Park will present the 21st Annual Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 4, in Winter Park’s Central Park. Wear your red, white and blue, bring a blanket or beach chair, and gather with family and friends to enjoy this Winter Park tradition. The annual celebration will feature live patriotic music performed by the Bach Festival Brass Band and the Bach Festival Choir, Orlando Cloggers, Rockin’ Roadster Road Show, Clydesdale horse-drawn wagon rides, and much more! Children’s activities will include the annual bicycle parade at 9 a.m. from City Hall to Central Park, and fun games and inflatables. Free hotdogs, watermelon and water will be available while supplies last. Chips, snacks and sodas will be available for purchase. In addition, the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will present their Independence Day Open House.
