A special program on Jewish and Muslim immigrant experiences in America will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida, located at 851 N. Maitland Ave. in Maitland. Presenting will be Imam Abdullah Atepli, chief representative of Muslim affairs at Duke University. The free program is open to the public. Meet, greet and network with the 2016 Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors along with fellow members, business executives and community leaders on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Woman’s Club on Winter Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This after-hours reception will include light bites and drinks. Bring your treasures and almost-treasures so that Harry Rinker, a national antique and collectibles expert and host of the TV show “Collector Inspector,” can provide background information about your pieces and approximate values at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at the University Club of Winter Park, located at 841 N. Park Ave. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and appraisals begin promptly at 1 p.m. Club members have priority and non-members will be admitted at 3 p.m. The costs for appraisals are $10 for one item or $25 for three items from the same person. Renowned clarinetist Julian Bliss will visit the UCF campus for a weekend of performances and clinics. Bliss has performed at some of the world’s leading venues and festivals as a chamber musician and soloist. The London-based performer will join the UCF Wind Ensemble concert on Friday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at Winter Park High School. On Saturday, Feb. 27, Bliss will be a guest speaker for the 26th annual UCF Clarinet Day from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. That evening, he will perform as a featured soloist with the Youth Band of Orlando. The Maitland Civic Center will host its monthly Fourth Friday Food Truck Event on Friday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will feature live entertainment, a beer and wine bar, food trucks, lawn games and movies for children.

The Scribes of Central Florida is proud to announce the return of Calligrafaire Festival on Saturday, Feb. 27, and Sunday, Feb. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Maitland Civic Center – Venue on the Lake, located at 641 S. Maitland Ave. The free event features two days of calligraphy and related arts. Members will be demonstrating calligraphy and writing names on free bookmarks. Come out to the fourth annual Winter Park Chowder Festival on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., at Mercedes-Benz of Orlando. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample both food and beer from a variety of vendors. Tickets cost $40. Attend the Renovation Groundbreaking for the Winter Park Golf Course on Monday, Feb. 29. The golf course will be closed from March to September, with a grand re-opening scheduled for the fall. To kick-off the six-month renovation project, city officials will offer remarks and lead the ceremony with a divot toss at noon. The event will feature merchandise deals and giveaways, a display of the renovation plans and annual pass information. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to golf for free beginning at 7 a.m. and attend a free lunch cookout from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those interested in playing before the renovations begin should sign up at [email protected].

There will be a Maitland Candidate Forum between Mike Thomas and Mike Dabby, running for Maitland City Council in the March 15 election, on March 2 at 7 p.m. at the Maitland Civic Center.

MARCH 3

Enjoy the charm of downtown Winter Park at the Sip, Shop & Stroll on Thursday, March 3. Held three times a year, the event allows attendees to preview the latest fashions, gift ideas and seasonal menu items. Tickets and event information are available at winterpark.org.

MARCH 5

The eighth annual Fiddler’s Green 5K is a fun run/walk hosted by Fiddler’s Green Irish Pub on Saturday, March 5. The race, which begins at 7:30 a.m., starts at Mead Garden and meanders though beautiful Winter Park, returning to finish at Mead Garden. From there, the runners are invited back for a beer and some fun at Fiddler’s Green Irish Pub. Cost is $25 to $35. For more information, call 407-599-3397.

MARCH 6

The 37th annual Winter Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Sunday, March 6, at 2 p.m. in downtown Winter Park. This year’s celebration will feature Irish music and step-dancing at the main stage in Central Park, with demonstrations by the Tir Na Greine School of Irish Dance and the Watters School of Irish Dance. The parade will begin at the Winter Park Golf Course and continue south down Park Avenue to Lyman Avenue. For more information, please call 407-222-0648.

A program held on Sunday, March 6, by the Orlando Area Historical Rose Society will show pictures and provide growing information for some of the beautiful antique roses that the rose society will offer for sale at the Leu Garden Plant Sale, March 12 and 13. The meeting begins at 2:30 p.m. at Leu Gardens in the Orchid Room located in the main building, located at 1920 N. Forest Ave. in Orlando. Doors open at 2 p.m. For directions call 407-246-2620.
