Art & History Museums – Maitland’s Culture & Cocktails is Friday, Jan. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., both inside and outside of the A&H’s Germaine Marvel Building. Internationally renowned artist Doug Rhodehamel presents his newest immersive installation experience, BLUMP, complete with music to set the tone of the event.

At 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 13, University Club of Winter Park presents Soprano Daniela D’Ingiullo, who specializes in Italian Romanza opera of the late 19th and 20th centuries. She is also trained in German lieder. Her program will feature the works of Bellini, Puccini, and F. P. Tosti. Ms. D’Ingiullo has appeared as a soloist in various theaters and music fests in Europe and Mexico. Stetson University’s Holly Small, who is no stranger to the University Club, will accompany her. Both artists are pleased to present a program with original composer piano accompaniment. The Maitland Chamber of Commerce will open its doors to the public on Friday Jan. 13, with a new exhibition that marks the beginning of a new chapter and tradition in the history of the local arts. “Nature: Timeless Source of Inspiration” is opening at 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Jan.13 at 110 N. Maitland Ave. The second Friday of every month local residents will have the opportunity to meet the artists, enjoy live music and performances, while experiencing art and culture at the Chamber. Winter Park is proud to present the 10th annual Unity Heritage Festival on Sunday, Jan. 15, and Monday, Jan. 16. The festival begins on Sunday, Jan. 15, in Shady Park in Hannibal Square located at the intersection of Pennsylvania and New England avenues, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The heritage festival continues in Shady Park on Monday, Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Join Mayor Ken Bradley and Winter Park city officials at 10 a.m. for a special Martin Luther King, Jr., symbolic program, including the Feature Family Presentation.

The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida has launched a new project to provide adults with an opportunity to share ideas in an informal environment. Beginning in January, community members are invited to participate in a bi-monthly book club focused on literature related to the Center’s mission. The first meeting of the group is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15. All book club meetings will be held in the library of the Holocaust Center, 851 N. Maitland Ave. in Maitland. On Jan 15, the Maitland Civic Center will be the host of the Maitland Coin and Currency Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show is free to the public and free door prizes will be given out to children and adults. “Florida Redistricting: Fair or Not?” part of the Great Lecture Series, is discussing the fifth and sixth amendment to the Florida constitution. In 2010, Florida citizens passed Amendments 5 and 6 to the Florida Constitution, which mandate fairness standards in drawing legislative and congressional district lines. By law, redistricting occurs every 10 years.
